"Crippled so hard"

I came across this review of "Crippled so hard" http://www.musicemissions.com/artists/albums/index.php?album_id=6657 and it kind of shook me because "Crip" is a song I no longer have a connection with in that I feel as an artist and as a songwriter I out grew it. "Crippled so hard" was the first song I wrote when I came to California and I remember the first moment I wrote it, I was sitting on my bathtub with my acoustic just singing and playing and this song came to me in a flash. The words have a lot to do with my father, who I don't speak to anymore, but it was recorded entirely by me and a drummer for hire in my apartment, believe it or not.

I uploaded it on Myspace and the response I got from that song was always amazing and perhaps was the biggest catalyst in how SToB grew so fast in the early days. At this point in my life as a writer, I feel I am on another level and I think songs like "I would destroy" and "Entwined" are really the beginning of what I am about unleash with this new record "The Equinox". It feels like "Crippled so hard" was another lifetime ago, I don't have any connection to it anymore but I am glad that song did move the people that it did.

"After the fall" is a brand new song that will be released this week so be sure to be on the look out for it this Weds or Thurs on Amazon MP3.

For a preview of that song check the video out below that contains snippets of "Relentless Fixation" (Which starts the clip off and is being mixed right now as I type this) "After the fall" and "The Equinox". 7 songs in total, I am considering never releasing these songs as an album to avoid any reviews by people who consider themselves "professional" critics because I don't believe anyone has the right to deem their opinion any more valid than anyone elses, the only "critics" I listen to are the people who buy music and most importantly SHAOLIN TEMPLE OF BOOM fans, I could care less what anyone else thinks.

Recording the new EP and other updates Journal 1.1

I took on a lot this last month but love it and need more! I recorded the vocals to a new song that is still untitled, but as I type this blog I am listening to David Spreng's final mix of the new song "After the sun" you can find David's info here http://www.myspace.com/davidspreng. The mix sounds B@DASS motherfucker....
I am going to try and premiere this song on the Skull Candy Iphone widget which is featuring 2 Shaolin Temple of BooM tracks currently along with Ozomatli, 3OH!3 and Del the Funky Homosapien, I think SToB is the only band that is unsigned in that group. You can download the FREE iPhone app at http://itunes.com/apps/skullcandy or click the pic below

I have trueAnthem to thank for this Skull Candy inclusion as well and I got a sneak peek at the new trueAnthem widgets which look absolutely killer.
So back to "After the fall", it will be mastered this tuesday and I will immediately upload it to iTunes and Amazon MP3 and beyond! Amazon is pretty fast to update so it should be made immediately available but iTunes takes a couple of weeks...perhaps 2 weeks to get on so I may miss my Halloween deadline for Itunes only but the single will premiere on Halloween or before FO SHIZZLE baby.
Speaking of Halloween, we will premiere the first ever music video for SHAOLIN TEMPLE OF BOOM for the song "I would destroy" which is currently on Itunes btw click here to get your groove on Shaolin Temple of Boom - Deus Ex Machina - I Would Destroy
The new video will be directed by the mega talented Tim Tompson, you can check him out here http://www.myspace.com/requinmedia I will be working with Tim in the near future for more videos with more of a budget the more SHAOLIN TEMPLE OF BOOM continues to grow so check out his work!
Check out this photo taken last night recording vocals for the new track
