"Crippled so hard"
I came across this review of "Crippled so hard" http://www.musicemissions.com/artists/albums/index.php?album_id=6657 and it kind of shook me because "Crip" is a song I no longer have a connection with in that I feel as an artist and as a songwriter I out grew it. "Crippled so hard" was the first song I wrote when I came to California and I remember the first moment I wrote it, I was sitting on my bathtub with my acoustic just singing and playing and this song came to me in a flash. The words have a lot to do with my father, who I don't speak to anymore, but it was recorded entirely by me and a drummer for hire in my apartment, believe it or not.
I uploaded it on Myspace and the response I got from that song was always amazing and perhaps was the biggest catalyst in how SToB grew so fast in the early days. At this point in my life as a writer, I feel I am on another level and I think songs like "I would destroy" and "Entwined" are really the beginning of what I am about unleash with this new record "The Equinox". It feels like "Crippled so hard" was another lifetime ago, I don't have any connection to it anymore but I am glad that song did move the people that it did.
"After the fall" is a brand new song that will be released this week so be sure to be on the look out for it this Weds or Thurs on Amazon MP3.
For a preview of that song check the video out below that contains snippets of "Relentless Fixation" (Which starts the clip off and is being mixed right now as I type this) "After the fall" and "The Equinox". 7 songs in total, I am considering never releasing these songs as an album to avoid any reviews by people who consider themselves "professional" critics because I don't believe anyone has the right to deem their opinion any more valid than anyone elses, the only "critics" I listen to are the people who buy music and most importantly SHAOLIN TEMPLE OF BOOM fans, I could care less what anyone else thinks.
